The “Smart Rail Connectivity Campus” project is a joint venture led by the city of Annaberg-Buchholz and the Technical University of Chemnitz and is supported by the Free State of Saxony and DB RegioNetz Verkehrs GmbH/Infrastruktur GmbH Erzgebirgsbahn, as the operator of the railway infrastructure.
In order to implement innovations in the complex field of “Smart Rail”, a complementary interaction between research, industry, operators and approval bodies is imperative. The SRCC acts as a platform that brings together the competencies of many actors in the WIR! Region and catalyzes innovations. Start-ups, regional and national research institutions, railway companies and infrastructure operators, business development agencies, associations and municipalities are represented in the network.
